Yes but it should be easier.
Right now in the browser you need to change the load type from "Replace" to "New layer"
Then when the new sample is in a new layer delete the original layer, all effects will be intact.
If you want to keep all sampler settings too, you do the same but instead of deleting the old layer, you drag the new sample up to the the old layer and delete the original sample instead.
Yeah sample handling is a bit of a mess right now, initial browsing is fine using the browser, but the sampler itself needs up down arrows to scroll through all samples in folder, so folder of snares BAM up n down all you like in context.
