Make pattern unique

It would be nice to be able to make a duplicate ‘in place’, in order to make a pattern unique. I don’t think this is possibe right now? I tend to repeat a pattern at first and modify these further along the line for breaks, transitions etc. In that case its handy that the changes only apply to that specific pattern. Delete current pattern, duplicate previous one works in most situations, but I think workflow would improve with requested feature!
