Bypass Synths

Is there a way to bypass a synth audiounit rather than having to unload the audiounit? For FX it seems to work, but trying to bypass something with uses more CPU like the Moog Model D just doesn’t seem possible. Am I missing something or is this an oversight in the development of the app?

    Its a performance thing i suspect, right nowbyou can bypass, which means when you unbypass it is ready to go immediately(great for performance)
    what you want is the ability to take a plugin offline, not yet possible.

    I'd love to able to put AU instruments into standby mode, where they would keep their presets and automation data, but not consume any CPU or RAM.

    Not sure if this will ever be possible though
