Ah okay. Yeah I always put my pads too low. I think the mastering software boosted certain frequencies a bit too much. I wish I could master using some speakers as opposed to headphones. :-(
By all means master with headphones, if that's what you've got.
But after (and during) the mastering process you should try playing it back on other systems, even crappy speakers like your phone. Doing so can reveal 'problematic' levels and EQ.
Also, I strongly recommend using reference tracks from your favourite producers so you can check you bass and levels against their tracks. Note - this comparison stage can work just as well using headphones only
