Has anyone been to Lake Travis? Recommend a good marina!
Hi everyone! My friends and I are going to Lake Travis next weekend. We want to not only go boating, but also stay somewhere with decent marina. It would be nice if there was not only a place for a boat, but also something like a cafe, shower, gas station, etc. And of course, we would like them not to look askance at newbies there - we are not professionals, we just like to spend time on the water. Can anyone recommend place where you feel at home, and not like an outsider among seasoned sea wolves? I really want good impressions, not fuss. Any advice and real reviews would be very useful.

It's great that you are going to Travis - there are gorgeous views and a lot of cool places, but I definitely advise you to stop by https://sandycreekyachtclub.com/ . We were there in the summer, and it's not just a marina, but a whole community. You can feel the warm atmosphere right away - we were greeted in a friendly manner, everything was explained, and we were helped to moor. There is a gas station, a shop with beer, ice and snacks, a shower and even Wi-Fi on the pier. You can sit quietly on the veranda and admire the sunset. In addition, they have good discounts on gas for club members and safe access to the piers. At first, we just wanted to stop for a couple of hours, but we stayed for the whole day. So if you want comfort and coziness, this is definitely the place for you. You won’t regret it!
My family and I went there on the weekend - everything is great. There is a lot of space, the piers are clean, there are no crowds and fuss, like in some other marinas on Travis. We also liked that you can meet both experienced boaters and newbies like us. No one looks down on you, everyone is ready to help. My wife immediately appreciated the showers and closed access - she felt calm. The kids loved the fact that you can grab snacks and feed seagulls from the pier. In short, Sandy Creek is a truly stress-free vacation. So +1 to the recommendation.
