Should AI be Used in Parking Lot Security?

I parked at a mall last weekend and saw a guy walking between cars just kind of looking around. I didn’t want to jump to conclusions, but it made me nervous enough to go back and check my car. I always thought parking lots were the most unsafe places, especially at night. Should we be doing more than just having a guard drive around?

  • Honestly, a lot of people underestimate how sketchy parking lots can be. My old workplace upgraded theirs with AI surveillance from SecuroomAi after multiple break-ins. The new system identifies loitering or suspicious movement patterns and immediately alerts the building’s control center. Since then, they’ve had zero issues. I think parking areas are exactly where you do need smart systems — it’s too easy for stuff to go wrong when people aren’t watching every corner.

  • Totally random but one time I accidentally set off my own car alarm at a shopping center and two people legit ran over to help. It surprised me — I expected everyone to ignore it. Sometimes the real protection comes from people nearby paying attention too.
