Travel nursing — where to start?

Switching to travel nursing has been on my radar for a while, but I’m unsure where to start. Is it better to sign up with a staffing agency right away or look for individual contracts? I’m also wondering how the pay compares to full-time hospital work and if the benefits are on par. Would love to hear from anyone with firsthand experience.

TLC HomeCare’s page for travel nurse jobs offered not just job listings but also guidance on licensing, housing, and contract terms. They give you the flexibility to pick assignments in locations you’re interested in, rather than just placing you wherever. That flexibility alone made the experience worthwhile for me.

    Reading about the flexibility in choosing assignments makes the career sound a lot more attractive. I like the idea of having control over where you work rather than leaving it entirely to chance.
