How to Compress Oversized PST Files Over 50GB?

My Outlook PST file has grown over 50GB, and it is causing performance issues like slow search, frequent freezing, and sometimes Outlook not responding at all. I tried archiving some emails, but the file size remains almost the same. Is there any way to properly compress or reduce the size of such a large PST file without losing important data? I am looking for a safe solution that actually decreases the file size and helps Outlook run smoothly again.

  • A safe way to reduce your PST size is to export old emails into a new PST and then remove them from your main file. After that, don’t forget to compact the main PST—this is the step that actually reduces the file size. Third-party tools like Stellar PST Compact or Kernel for PST Compress are also options, but make sure to back up everything first.
Think of it like an Escape Road challenge: you’re finding the best route to safety (smaller PST) without losing anything important along the way.

  • I was facing a problem with a PST file larger than 50GB in Outlook, neither was Outlook opening nor was any email being received. Tried several methods but nothing worked. Then I used Softaken Compress PST Software. This tool is quite easy and safe. In this, I compressed my large PST file without any data loss. The special thing is that it can also save attachments separately, which reduces the size of the file considerably. If your PST file has also become 50GB+ and Outlook is slowing down or crashing, then definitely try this tool once. It was quite effective for me.

If your Outlook PST file has become very large and Outlook is running slowly, then I would like to suggest a great tool, DataVare Outlook PST Compact Expert Software. I have used it myself, and it reduces the size of the PST file without any data loss. It also has the option to remove attachments or save them separately. It works with all Outlook versions and also supports password-protected files. I also found its interface very simple and user-friendly. If you are also looking for a reliable tool to compress PST files, then definitely try it once.
