Do Board Games Bring People Closer or Push Them Apart?

I was talking with my girlfriend last night about how different people act when playing games. Some become super friendly and cooperative, others turn into ruthless competitors. When it comes to Monopoly or Risk, it’s like a switch flips. Do you think board games strengthen relationships, or do they secretly test them?

  • That’s such an interesting thought. I think it really depends on the type of game and the people playing. Monopoly in particular seems to test everyone’s patience — it’s long, strategic, and kind of cruel when you think about it. I read an article on https://www.technicalpariwar.com/why-nobody-actually-finishes-monopoly/
that points out how it drags out to the point where most people just quit. It’s funny because it mirrors relationships too — sometimes persistence pays off, sometimes you just need to walk away before things explode!
