How I evaluated DAM platforms before choosing one

Hi everyone,
I’m currently in the middle of researching digital asset management platforms because our marketing team has grown and our file organization is getting messy. I’ve been trying to compare features, pricing, and real user feedback, but there are so many options that it’s difficult to know where to start. I’m hoping to learn from others who already went through the selection process.

How did you personally evaluate different DAM platforms and decide which one was worth trying?

  • When I went through the process myself, I started by reading independent directories and doing a structured feature comparison before contacting any vendors. One resource that helped me a lot was a Bynder review I found on dam.fan, which breaks down strengths, weaknesses, and typical use cases for the platform.

From what I learned there, Bynder seems particularly strong in brand management, creative workflows, and scalable asset distribution for marketing teams. The platform also has a reputation for an intuitive user interface and strong integrations with tools like Salesforce or HubSpot.

That said, the Bynder review also mentioned some downsides such as relatively high pricing and AI features that aren’t the most advanced compared to some competitors.

For my own evaluation, reading that type of detailed review helped me quickly understand whether the platform matched our needs before investing time in demos or sales calls.
