I recently needed to convert HCL Notes NSF files to PST format to move emails into Microsoft Outlook 2019, and I thought I’d share my experience here for anyone facing a similar challenge. As you might already know, HCL Notes (formerly Lotus Notes) stores mailbox data in .NSF files, but Outlook uses .PST—which means there’s no direct way to open NSF files in Outlook without some kind of conversion.

    HCL Notes (Lotus Notes) NSF files can be updated and exported to PST for Outlook 2019, 2016, 2013, or 2010. You can do it by hand or with a professional NSF to PST converter tool.

    1- The first way is to convert by Manual, using IBM Notes and Outlook.

    We have a free way that is hard and takes a lot of time. Do these things:

    Step 1: Export NSF to CSV from HCL Notes

    Open up HCL Notes
    Click File > Open > Lotus Notes Application to find your NSF file.
    Select "Export" from the list.
    You can choose a place and a style, such as Comma Separated Value or Structured Text.
    Save the file and send it.

    ** Step 2: Open Outlook and add the CSV file**

    Open up Microsoft Outlook.
    You need to go to Open and Export > Import in order to do this.
    Go to "Import from another program or file" and then click "Comma Separated Values."
    Click on the CSV file when you find it.
    After that, you can choose a place to copy to and finish the process.

    A few issues -

    It takes a long time.
    It's not possible to keep metadata, attachments, or the layout of folders.
    It only works for emails, not for friends or plans.

    2- Use a professional tool (recommended)
