Rust

Been playing Rust for a few months now and starting to get into the skin scene. Are weapon skins actually worth investing in or just for looks?

  • Rust skins can definitely hold value especially the rare ones from older cases. Some of my AK skins have gone up quite a bit since I bought them last year

  • Both of you are right about Rust skins being a decent investment. The market has grown a lot over the past couple years and certain items have really solid demand. What I like about Rust compared to other games is that the skins actually feel more meaningful since you're constantly losing and finding gear. When you have a nice skin it makes those moments when you get good loot even better. I browse https://dmarket.com/ingame-items/item-list/rust-skins pretty regularly to check prices and find deals. The AK and LR-300 skins tend to hold value best since those are the weapons everyone wants. Just remember that Rust skins are still newer than CS so the market can be more unpredictable

  • I don’t think there’s a definite answer to whether it’s worth it or not. It’s personal, just like the money spent on skins.

  • I used to really enjoy collecting Rust skins. I do not know why, because they really did not affect gameplay, skills, or experience, but for some reason I wanted them. Later, I sold them on https://rustskins.com/sell, and I actually got pretty decent money. For buyers, the conditions are a little better, but even with a small commission, I was able to make money.
