I cannot access my audio track mixer automation data

edited January 2013 in Support
I typically don't have a problem getting to automation for a drum machine track but for some reason I'm having problems with audio track automation.

I recorded a mute via the mixer. The mute automation recorded fine and I can see it as a clip that is on top of my audio track...the problem is when I tap on the audio track at the area where the automation is located it simply opens the audio file and I cannot access any automation.

If you are on iPad, select the sequence to enter edit mode and go to the bottom right corner and tap "edit". Any active automation should be highlighted in yellow. It should be track mute that's highlighted.
Select it and you should see the automation data.
I've recently ran into a problem with a track that keeps soloing even though I can't find any automation data to support it. It's a beta so I've contacted intua about it, but maybe it's a general bug.

Thanks for the response. Below is a screen shot. I'm not sure what you mean by "select the sequence" but when I tap on the audio file, the automation portion seems to highlight yellow. but I cannot edit the automation. The automation is located in the middle of the audio file in the photo below. When I try to highlight the automation the entire audio clip is selected as well.

    My apologies- I overlooked that you were talking about an audio track. <!-- s:oops: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_redface.gif" alt=":oops:" title="Embarrassed" /><!-- s:oops: -->

So it looks like you've found a bug. If you have an audio track, in order to be able to edit the automation you need to create another sequencer track so the automation data is separate.
When automation is on the actual waveform, I can't find any way to access it either.

When you say "Create a another sequencer track" do you mean before I record the automation? Or can I fix the issue I'm having right now? Can you explain the process for me step by step?

    Thanks

Ok, I think I've got it. Select the audio track (making sure the audio only is selected)
Slide the audio file to the right until you can see the automation data. Now go to the top left of the screen and tap the +track button, and select the said audio track so it creates another sequencer track for the audio track.
Now select the automation data, and use the up down tool to drag it to the newly created sequencer track. Then slide the audio file back to where it was originally.
    Make sense?
This is a workaround, not a solution. Lemme know if you need more help!

Just wanted to add that I was also able to solve my issue described earlier in the thread.
For some reason BM2 recorded my accidental soloing of a track, but on a completely different track! It was also invisible in the sequence, as I checked every one for track solo data, and there was none visible. It was only when I started deleting sequences one by one that I found the culprit. Wierd.

That is weird...I'm glad you got to the bottom of it though. Hopefully the Intua team will get this little issue polished up...until then, At least there's a work around.
