hello my intua family just made a kit this is my first one i have been making music for a while now but i think you will like this hip hop kit that i made <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://rapidshare.com/files/239360096/swift_hip_kit.bmkz.html">http://rapidshare.com/files/239360096/s ... .bmkz.html</a><!-- m --> if you like i will continue making kits so let me know <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
I recently bought BeatMaker and I have created a kit that I posted on my website. It uses some samples that I downloaded from freesound.org and some samples that I created myself on keyboard and guitar. It's a funky jazzy sounding kit with some short berimbau samples included and a variety of ride cymbals. Have a look and download if you like.
Whats good everyone I have a few kits loaded up on the ibeatmaker site. I'm formally known as Son of Sam Productions and have been producing for about 7 years. I took a year off from making anything and now I'm back and will be coming out with a new better improved sound. Talk to ya'll later.
PEACE
Yea, the 10 MB limit is unfortunatly set by my ISP.
Initial limit was 2 MB and I managed to increase it up to 10. He would not go higher.
Since the setting is in phpinit (for those who care to know) I cannot override it the way the server is set up.
So 10 MB is it. Sorry. It is great though to see how many people make kits and want to share them!
Thats unfortunate. Ive been making a bunch of drum kits but theyre growing past 10 megs... im primarly a guitar/bass player and im a tonefreak so i found the best is to make my own kits. Going to try and make a kit for a jazz bass with bridge only, neck only and both pickups on.
off topic - The XML format being use looks pretty good and supports feature upgrades like MPC or Battery - wave samples specific to volume ranges to give better realism. However, making a beatpack with multiple samples for a pad with different velocities didnt load.
ANyone know if Beatmaker supports velocity specific samples for a pad?
The easiest way to bring your filesize down without much effect to your music is to build your kit with MONO wav files.
Realistically, most of your samples are mono to start with. That just right there cuts your filesize in half.
It also improves Beatmakers performance as the iPhone RAM is limited (128 MB on pre 3GS and 256 MB on the 3GS. Now remember that BM and any other 3rd party app can only use a part of that RAM.) So the less RAM your audio samples use, the more the app itself can claim.
Anyways, its great to see so many kits being made!
Check out the link. Its kind of a random assortment of mostly funky guitar riffs and licks for people to enjoy. Most are of different keys and tempos, so using all of them together might be hard, but if you are looking for some samples to slice up and throw in your mixes here and there, it might be just the thing for you. Enjoy.

this is about 50 kits i have made with a variety of samples and loops. I do not set mine up in kits, rather by gropings of similar sounds or instruments for making new kits for each song. I find it easier to track down a sound or instrument when making a bank this way. I hope you all enjoy and make some rockin beats with these. It includes everything from dub-crunk, orchestra-metal,gangsta-pop
This one is called MY-909 which contains classic sounds from the TR-909 <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->
Sorry if there is a simular pack, but the sounds are mint!
Well Here's 2 more kits for ya. There from a youtube video of pete rock using his mpc 3000 i did what i could to try to get the sounds off. I noticed that someone did something like this on Just Blaze's MPC 4000 video and i was like i'll continue the trend.
What is the difference between a .bmk and a .bmkz file?
I have downloaded several beat packs from ibeatmaker.com and they are all in in a zip file that unzips to a folder with several .wavs and one .bmk file. The only way I have been successful uploading this beatback is (1.) after I open beat pack (2.) drag and drop all of the .wavs into BeatPack (3.) create a .bmkz file (4.) download the .bmkz file as instructed to the iphone.
Is it possible to bypass this step and simply upload the file as-is from ibeatmaker.com?
I added new kits on ibeatmaker they consist of mostly all hip hop/rap i added alot so take as you may. <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

A lot of those links 404 or go to a Godaddy Placeholder account. How about you add a place to your site where users can upload files and download them from within the app...I'll add this to my other post.

For some reason i'm unable to upload kits, each time i try to upload, after a while it says server reset. <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->
The maximum file size on ibeatmaker.com is 10MB.
If your bmkz are larger, try to shrink them. Most sample do not need to be stereo. Just converting to mono will cut your filesize in half.
If that's not the issue please pm me and I'll try to help you one on one.
