phono preamp to line in with 1.3?

Anyone know if this could be possible if recording support has been included in the update? Can the iPhone headphone jack serve as a line in and if so at what quality of audio? Thanks in advance .

    Don't use a phono preamp, that is only for turntables....

    Go into the highest quality line input you have.

    I tracked a beat out into Pro Tools and I'm about to release it, it sounds fine.

    do not know what quality is... but you can go to radio shack and by an adapter to plug in any mono line in you have. the iphone has 3 rings on headphone jack 2 are for stereo out and other is for mono input.
