Please please.. Bring back non-destructive wave editing. I want to be able to mark my loop point in and outs without having to "trim" the sample and save as..

Also, I own 2 iOS devices, so I want to be able to move the whole project back and forth between them EASILY, without having to use ftp, iphone explorer and all of those cumbersome methods. If there was some way to say the project with all of the waves and samples in tact in some sort of folder structure to where I could just transfer the folder to the other device, I would be so set.. Dropbox support or some sort of sync between the 2 devices through wifi would be amazing..

One other thing: I have with no luck, been able to seamlessly open my BM1 projects in BM2. They open, but everything is really messed up (loop points, volume, etc). I would REALLY love that as well.

Oh ya we also need triplet quantize.

?
Im assuming you mean that when you record it will quantize in triplets? theres 8th increments up to 96 for quantizing...

Haha ok im going to be a bit of a smart ass here but, yes by "we also need triplet quantize" I do mean "when you record it will quantize in triplets"(if you set it to of course). There is 1/8th 1/16th etc but no 1/8(3)(triplets) or 1/16(3). So ya currently you cannot quantize in triplets, I want to it's pretty key. Also I said we needed note repeat, if it's added we need note repeats in triplets as well.

Would CoreMIDI work on a iphone or ipod touch?

If so, how?...

If not, can I change my vote to Synthstation 25 please...

Rather predictably I have voted for Core MIdi, but it would be nice to have a "proper" sound bank as well
As it stands, it is total (97% of 700MB) rubbish...
Btw; So why is INtua gathering this info to begin with?
iPad and Core MIDI will not happen before Xmas, will it?

I'm just glad nobody takes you seriously... Grow up TolTek... You act like you are not using BM2 exclusively.. But we all know you are... Why do you think you come in here to complain? so you can get more out of Intua.. Stop being so obvious, you big doofus.... Have some self respect..

I went with the SF2 cus there was little choice in that list, but to be honest I think..

-Multiple track, channel, or pad wav export should be on top of that list.. (having only one global export is holding us back a few years at this point)

-Removable grid in the pattern/note editor is right next(not under) to the top of that list..(right now if I edit any unquantized notes, they get snapped to the nearest grid mark, and that blows..)

-Automation of Instrument parameters should also be on the list..(How did that get away?)

-Swing Recording should also have made the list..(Editing your Swinging only after recording does not give the same feel as recording your swing)

-Global Transpose for the keyboard should have been there already..

-Pad copy should be there...

-CPU meter could be another..

-ALL MIDI options should be no choice but to deliver them...

These are all high priority even if others don't realize it yet..As great as the program is, BM2 feels incomplete without them..

Personally I don't like the voting idea, cus you could get a bunch of votes for things not as important and have many important features ignored.. Maybe Intua should consult with a select few who have experience in this field and not just leave it to the open public.. (they don't always know best) Study MPC's and MV-88's a bit more...

Make them ALL top priority and lets not choose to ignore some for others.... And really, Don't make this a priority feature list, instead make this into your TO DO list... Only then can BM2 be truly complete...

signed
(all these things are perfectly do-able and should be there in the next couple of months I think)

After using beat maker 2 for a little while now, there is an aggravator I have come across plenty of times...copy and paste of patterns is a desperate need...the current system puts it to the right on top of whatever is there already, this sucks.

I figure core midi is coming regardless...as it will be expected and implemented by any serious app builder...
• edited 8:52AM
PADCOPY!!!! its such a pain to mix up sounds for kits at the momment

I voted midi mobilizer. I would buy one if beatmaker supported it. I want to control beatmaker with my maschine controller.
I would be able to control the native maschine software, ableton and, beatmaker all off of one controller if i so choose.
• I will tell you exactly what we all need.... a matching software program similar to FL studio that we can load our tracks into and still be able to manipulate, master, and do you pattern editor from a desk top.... I have some very bangin beats but the hardest part of this program is trying to complete your music PLEASE GIVE ME A SOFTWARE PROGRAM AND MAKE IT EASIER TO TRANSFER FILES!!!!!!
• edited 8:52AM
actually whats the diff between core midi support and the mobilizer support?
• edited 8:52AM
I, too, voted for DropBox, but SoundFont 2 support would be a close second- I have tons of sound fonts that I use with Logic Express, it would be great to be able to use 'em in BM2!
• edited 8:52AM
actually a computer editor would be snazzy
• Everyone should spread the word A DESKTOP OR LAPTOP EDITOR!!!!!!!!!! you bang out your beat on the pads, load your beat into the software on your desktop and then do all your effects mastering and finishing touches on the software something similar to fl studio, I do my beats on an i pad... this blows the AKAI MPC 500 out of the water!!! but THE PROGRAM WILL BE THE NEW KILLER WITH SUPPORTING BEATMAKER DESKTOP SOFT WARE .................SPREAD THE MOVEMENT.

BM2 has effects and whatnot — you can make complete songs with it! If you just want to make loops with BM2 and use them in some DAW like FL or Reaper or whatever, do that. I doubt Intua plans on making a desktop DAW. BM2's magic lies in the fact that it's a mobile app.

With the "Export Audio" or "Export midi" it is more than capable of doing whole tracks on another daw or if you take time you can complete your whole song within BM2 , I have done it with BM1 and 2!!!
These are not just for making loops!!!

The export audio/midi is cool, but would be cooler if we had the option of exporting all audio tracks at once.

BLUE MIKEY 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
please add support for blue mikey 2nd generation. beatmaker 1 worked great with my mikey. beatmaker 2 doesnt work at all??????? thats my vote! BLUE MIKEY! also not sure if sonomas guitarjack works but please support that too if not.

+100 for SynthStation 25 ! ! !
• edited 8:52AM
I voted CoreMidi but only because I assume adding that will add SynthStation 25 support automatically.

Otherwise, I change my vote to SynthStation 25
• At 1st I thought Synthstation 25 support but voted CoreMidi because of its universality. I Love BeatMaker 2 and the Synthstation but in the long run, with Coremidi, we'll be able to incorporate Beatmaker2 with a more broad selection of devices.

Why on earth would you guys consider the Sound Font 2 sample format? It is pretty much dead by now.. of course there are a lot of old sample packs out there but come on, look for the future.

Something like .sfz is a much wiser choice and is finally being supported in a number of professional applications and instruments.

http://www.cakewalk.com/DevXchange/article.aspx?aid=108

http://www.drealm.info/sfz/

Also, sound font 2 sounds can easily be converted to SFZ.

Please Intua, get somebody professional on board the development team. There are just too many design flaws and misses in the initial release of BM2 that I can not help but wonder if somebody who actually works with professional audio tools ever helped you guys develop the software. Not to belittle amateurs and hobbyists, not at all, they will be the main target audience of course but it is wise to follow the professional audio development because all the software there has gone through similar problems in the past!! There's very little point in making the same mistakes.

Cheers and best of luck with the updates!

.sfz will do the job just as well (or any format to which I can once again convert my Akai discs)... It's just that we're living in the past...
Anyway I'm more and more of the opinion that indeed, all of the features listed in the poll should be part of the next Beatmaker 2 update... Most of this is just standard sh.. on the iOS platform and not supporting it just shows a lack of dedication... Now that I come to think of it, having CoreMidi on the list is just ridiculous, OF COURSE, every music app on iOS should support it (you wouldn't find a music app on the Mac not supporting it)
The numerous suggestions that were raised in the thread here should also be considered and I'm really looking forward to having a decent application in a couple of months...

Why isn't the iPad update on here?!?

this list is cool...but you know whats cooler? a billion dollars

Why isn't the iPad update on here?!?

it's not on there, because they have already stated in the first post that it is coming soon. (tis what i am looking forward to most also, hehe)...

and noooo. dropbox is loosing. lol. coreMidi is looking like it will get priority.

Hello. I apologize for this question in advance. What is the difference between CORE MIDI, AKAI SYNTHSTATION and the LINE 6 MIDI MOBILIZER--in terms of adding the feature to BeatMaker 2? Am I right by saying that all these features share the same MIDI I/O system? Thank you INTUA for an incredible product.

Cheers,
Beats23

@coremidi/line6/nongoogling dude... (wrong quote earlier..)

you are wrong in thinking that. line 6 is for the line 6 mini-mobilizer. core midi is for camera-kit midi (and some other externals that support it), and synthstation is for the synthstation hardware only. all 3 are interface-dependent.
