Request: Piano Roll

edited September 2009 in General
I searched for Piano roll and didn't see any.

If we were able to adjust the pitch of samples via a piano keyboard or roll and record that it would make things 100% easier than the sliders that allow +12 / -12 pitch adjustment. Even if the piano roll couldn't span the keyboard 88 keys it would still be tons easier to adjust samples via keys than the sliders.

    Good Idea!!!

    I agree.
  • Total no-brainer. There's not a single app (mindblowing, but true) that offers piano roll editing/programming with the ability to export MIDI files. This, to me, is the missing link between something working as a great on-the-go sketchpad that allows the user to continue work later on in their real DAW.

Programming pitches using the +12/-12 slider system is really just not intuitive at all, and it's the one weak link in the app. Everything else about it makes it the reigning king of music creation apps on the phone/touch, so I'd love to see piano roll cement its place on top.

All this time I have refrained from buying Beat Maker because it has not piano
roll. I sure hope they implement it soon before I give up on Beat Maker all together.

I bought Xewton Studio and they have a full 88 keys because the interface allows you to scroll to the left or right. Although they are no Beatmaker, atleast it does let you compose yo own stuff. I made the big mistake of buying those two stupid apps, (Piano Pro and Guitar Pro). The most time wasting apps for folks that want to make their own melody because it is more designed to find court proggression than doing your own melody and export them to Beatmaker. <!-- s:evil: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_evil.gif" alt="" title="Evil or Very Mad" /><!-- s:evil: -->

There is nothing wrong with FL. If you are creative you are gonna make a dope beat regardless. Way before FL I was making nice beats with my Boss Dr.Rythym. Plus if you play keyboard all you need is a controller and whatever flows from there is on. 9th Wonder made his first album on FL. Plus thru DXi you could open FL on most production software like SONAR.
