BM2 hangs my iPad

I've had it happen twice now; once when I was timestretching an audio sample, and once while editing a sample in the audio editor: my iPad freezes and I can't even homebutton out of BM2. I have to turn off my iPad to resolve it. When turning off the device I dont get the regular "slide to power off" slider, I have to hold the powerbutton for 30-40 seconds for it to power down.
I've made sure to close all other apps while using BM2 due to frequent "low memory" warnings. Any idea what's causing this?

    You must kill all background apps even if you have to hard reboot!!

    Ya that issue sucks, wish they would fix it. happens on iphone as well
