BM2 lacks a good synthesizer

edited July 2011 in General
Hi!

I bought BM2 pretty spontanous and I don't regret it! It is really fun and easy to play with this app. But it lacks a good synthesizer. Argon is actually the best synth out there (for iOS and in my opinion) but I think it is counter productive to create loops in one app and copy them into BM2. Especially if the melodies are longer than four bars. That makes it harder to change the notes and stuff.

Just a thought: why don't you cooperate with icegear and integrate the Argon engine into BM2? That would be AWESOME!

With a powerful synth BM2 would be THE music studio on iOS!

Cheers,
G-SYS

Argon is a nice little synth, but it is far from being the best on iOS. Sunrises is a monster, and iSyn-poly is good as well. But I do agree that a decent synth would be nice in BM2......

    I agree!
Reason Thor like 3 oscilator synth would be WOW!

Sunriser is the best in my opinion. Though, they're completely different animals... One is monophonic, the other is a hybrid polyphonic with fm synthesis... Nlog pro is fm synthesis... I love that one too... Beatmaker's synth is a sample based synth with oscillation... As is eden from nanostudio ( with and without samples... Hybrid sample-mono-poly)... In fact, eden rocks too, very flexible in my opinion.

In another post I asked intua if they had integrated sounfonts in the synth modules... That would rock as we would have variable samples and sample layers... It's a bit of a shame that Intua has the bad habit of not answering stuff on their forum... Great software, not so good marketing and PR skills... You guys should really hire some pr guy to help you out on this!

I agree that Argon is a good mono synth, Sunriser, as I said above, is just a monster. It reminds me of Sylenth1 in the VSTi world.....

It would be major for me if BM2 had soundfont support. I have thousands of SF2's ready to go, it would just be amazing. But, I am not counting on it, at least for the next update. Critical for me is native iPad support, and core midi. If by some miracle BM2 also gets SF2 support, I would become a BM2 evangelist.....

BTW, an excellent SF2 synth on the iPad is bs-16I, check it out in the app store. The major problem I have with it is it does not have copy/paste. So I can't use it in BM2 or anything else. But it is great to play with.....

damn BRE, i never knew about the bs161 app. that app is nutts. yeah i agree if bm2 gets that into their interface i'll support bm2 forever. i also agree i need the ipad hd support and coremidi. i have my eye on the akai mpk64. where can i get some sound fonts for free? let me know

Hey, wow... The BS16i seems like a great app... It's a shame there's no audiopaste... Looks like a good implementation... If intua didn't implement sounfont in the update, i'll buy it just for the sake of having an external module to play sf files!

Thanks for the heads up on this one.

Just go to http://www.hammersound.net/index.html and hit sounds/sound library for some. Google "free sound fonts" for more. There are many paid sets that have entire synth sets.....they are raw sound, use effects to get phat sound.....

Thank you Bremencole. I went on their site and they have crap loads of soundfonts. I even search some roland soundfonts on torrents and came up with some free stuff. The only problem i have now is loading it up i did the ip address in the url but it keeps freezing when i load the sounds up. I'll try again. maybe the site was on the fritz. thanks again friend.
