I hate to be the one to admit this, but definitions ......

edited December 2011 in General
Could someone make a definition list?
I'm sure I would enjoy some of the new additions if I understood what they they were.

    Now this post is more embarrassing to put up than I first thought. I assume everyone know what all the terms mean. <!-- s:cry: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt=":cry:" title="Crying or Very Sad" /><!-- s:cry: -->

    You should review the new manual.

    What terms do you need to know?

    Thanks for responding Rango. I was just reading through some of the post I saw how people request features like "hot plugs" and other things and was confused. Im coming off a Mpc and have made very happy and cheap move to the Beatmaker.
    Got to read that manual again. <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

    Reading the manual isn't going to explain to what people are requesting. Really what people are asking for is some of the features found in the various Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) apps found on PCs & Macs.

    If your coming from the MPC you really wont know most of these technologies & techniques. If you'd like to learn a lot more about digital music production I'd recommend getting a subscription to MacPro Video http://www.macprovideo.com what the tutorials about Reason, Ableton Live & Cubase. Those are the three most popular DAWs (in no particular order) and they represent the three most popular DAW styles.

    I used to be a Cubase person for 14 years but recently I've moved to Ableton and I'm pretty blown away by it..

    Anyway good luck, switching to Software music production is tough but you'll find the power and precision are very much worth it.
