Sampling striaght from my mixer

edited January 2012 in General
I was trying to sample straight from my mixer. I thought at one time I could sample through my headphone jack with my mixer, am I wrong?

You could, with the iRig or an interface connected thru usb with the camera connection kit (ipad only).... I really don't recommend using the mic/headphone jack method... You'll get a really nasty noise floor in there... Better to use an interface or the io dock or something pro to have a good Analog to digital conversion.
  • Thanks. The camera kits on Christmas list.

How do you do this with the irig?

Connect the iRig to your device - connect an input cable to your iRig, click record on a pad in bm2, play your source... Pretty straight forward... But it sounds like crap if you ask me.

Note: it's the iRig guitar cable... Not the midi stuff.. Hehe

I know it might be out of some people price range but the io Dock by Alesis is great. plus it does make it look more MPC looking

Io dock just has new noise issues either with outputs or/and inputs everytime an app or ios updates, and then the blame game ensues, and then finally right before something updates a fix comes only to be replaced by a new issue. I love the io dock when it works. There is a lag of communication somewhere in the chain that needs to be fixed obviously.
