For 1, retronyms makes it...so its not going to be that deep...sorry.
For 2, it copies only the mpc2000, not jjos, so its pretty basic.
The effects are limited to 3, period...a delay, a bitcrusher, and a comp/limiter which they say is for mastering, but it only has two editable parameters...so far from mastering!
IN FACT! The only place where I see the software beats beatmaker2 thus far is in two places... Akai library for mpc2000 compatibility...and THE PAD EDITOR for moving samples and placing samples from the filetree is wayyyyyyyyyyy better. I keep trying to tell intua the file system is wack on beatmaker2 not useable...muthafucking WACK! If they listen and fix it...bam! I propose they watch the demo of akai mpc fly and look how drag and drop should be done.
If the hardware is coremidi...then just buy it for 200 bucks or whatever and use it for beatmaker2! Maybe intua will not drop the ball and make a template that supports this controller...because this controller is badasssssssss! I will be getting it...as long as it is core midi.

It has no IO...and it uses up the port so you cant have IO...its retarded.
The only thing dope about the software was the ability to move samples alot better than beatmaker2! Intua should watch the video and take note of that!

Buy a korg padkontrol which has better pads, and hook it to the alesis io dock which has actual io....load up beatmaker2 wayyyyy better
£159 is alot. i know some peeps will spend that but with no i/o like its been said isnt good, id want more for my money. you're paying for the name. hope retronyms do a good job. glad i bought my io dock and beatmaker2.

I will say one thing though which is absoulutely amazing about the MPC Fly software;
YOU CAN SAMPLE INTERNALLY FROM THE ITUNES LIBRARY
Which saves heaps of time and data space and probably may mean it can record from other active devices i.e. Sampletank, Garageband, etc...
i actually caught a video that said the app is coming 1st so you dont need the pads and that you can sample through external devices ie io dock . ill probably buy the app then jack the drum samples <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s --> glad to hear the price of the app is under $10 Retronyms didnt have to start from scratch as they had most of the tech in Tabletop.
