I don't know if this is a bug or not but MIDI input/output channels are not saved with a saved configuration. I've saved a configuration and reloaded it on another track and the midi channels don't take on what I saved! It seems only the CCs get saved/loaded.

The MIDI channel configuration is not saved within the template. As you say, only the CC mapping is written. We do it that way to ensure the user doesn't have to reconfigure the channels when loading a shared template.
