Akai EIE.. Anyone got one?

edited June 2012 in General
I saw a YouTube vid where they are using one with GarageBand..
Wondering if anyone has used this unit with BM2. A little torn right now as it is (still) a limited market for ios audio interfaces that will charge your iPad.
With a powered audio interface like this, does anyone know how battery life is?

So after ordering the wrong one (the EIE Pro), sending it back,
And receiving the regular EIE, here are my initial thoughts:
    Wow.

    Wow.

Ok, the unit has a boot procedure (surely its standard)- make sure all USB midi controllers are connected and that the akai is connected via cck. I also picked up a dock extension cable(make sure it's 30 pin pass) to take the stress off of the iPad dock connector.

Turn unit on, and jam away... Wow...

My only gripe (and it's a BIG BIG one) is that beatmaker2 won't let me have anything more than mono input for sampling ?$&@?!?!?& My old Stanton t90 USB turntable even sent and received stereo tracks..
The akai works like a wet dream with GarageBand... Any mono input (of 4), and you can choose between stereo inputs 1-2 or 3-4....

Any way we can implement that? This audio card is a sleeper for sure, and fits the iPad like a glove.

    NEED STEREO INPUTS!!!
    Thanks
