Midi-Out to Hardware-Soundmodule and program changes

edited July 2012 in Support
Hi
I bought Beatmaker a week ago.
I also have the Alesis IO Dock.

My plan is to hook up an external soundmodule/synth like a Roland JV2080 via the MIDI OUT Port of the IO Dock.
I want Beatmaker 2 to be the main sequencer.

1. Is this possible? I already connected my EMU MP7 to the midi out of the io dock, but i cant control the MP7 with BM2. Nothing happens?
2. Is it possible to send out program changes with BM or is this in work?

Thanks. Sorry for my english <!-- s:-) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":-)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:-) -->

    Question number 1 is solved. My MP7 works now.

    It´s now all about program changes or sysex files. Is this possible and how?

    Yeah, I have my virusB working great from BM2, but I haven't gotten program change to work yet. It might be something I missed, but BM2 wasn't recording modulation from my axiom25 thru BM2 to the virusB either.

    Yeah you can do this.
    When you add a keyboard setup in beatmaker just click the little midi button on the bottom right corner. Switch it to the proper output midi channel and below that is your midi cc. Yes your synth has to use cc. Change the cc you want to control with beatmaker to your synths corresponding cc number for that parameter.

    Also I have not tried it yet but n order to get external knobs to work with beatmaker I think you need to give the midi learn function a try.
