I just dont get why you went this way

I am sorry to say this, but other than quickload, this update broke more than it fixed.
You can keep 2.3....its a pain in the ass, i wont be using all the recording crap, it isnt daw enough for me to waste my precious ipad storgae space on. But bm2 has to be manually closed all the time now, and if you forget you'll have a dead battery...i know charge it right...problem is the ipad battery is only good for so many charges...

I still totally believe updating the effects and the quickload features, with multisamples on the keyboard and better filesystem was the way to go with a beatmaking app...as a recorder this fails in my book. It doesnt have a compressor on the in....it really kinda sucks to do backing tracks and punch ins...i guess if you are a cheapskate and this twenty bucks is all you have...then it will get you by for a recorder, but honestly the effects section is wayyyy garbage to use beatmaker as a daw...a three band eq isnt gonna ever cut it in a mixdown situation.

This is my opinion after using this...sorry its not better...but the file system is horrid has been the whole time, the recording is not something a person would use unless restricted by budget or just being effin cheap...in order to have a comprehensive daw...you will NEED better filekeeping, a way better compressor, a different kind of eq, a brickwall limiter, metering, and this ...is way way way way off folks...

I will applaud the quickload feature, and the keyboard sampler update however!

Just keep in mind...if this is a sample based production instrument it needs better sample tools!

This is a very easily lossy file system as its totally easy to save shit in the wrong place, erase the wrong shit etc...transfering a song to you coworker one fuggin file at a time in dropbox is just simply something that nobody wants to do period....in the mpc you save the damn file on a media and load it in the other where it is reassembled properly on load and bam...not here...even after uploading one file at a time...and then downloading one file a time...the end user has to know where every sample was and reassemble the whole thing grrrrrrr.

Focus on beatmaker being a functional musical device not a tape recorder.

What happened here is you got bugged to death by a bunch of cheapskate ass rappers who want more money for forties and weeeeeed and dont want to invest in the real good. You listened and provided a means to record...now we got 50 kids runnin round thinking they got a pro studio on an ipad for twenty bucks....when indeed the truth is a micro br would eat its ass for half the money. If you want a recorder on the ipad get auria...it really doesnt get better than that right now...i would put beatmaker2 dead last even after music studio in the battle of audio recorders.

The effects arent there for this to be a daw.

I feel that you have strayed from your market. It will now be another 6 months to a year before we get anything to make this a better sampler <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( -->

Not to mention it crashes a bit more too. Especially when ran In The background but I understand this may be a bug and will probably get fixed in the next update.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for your feedback, I will answer to a few questions.
"But bm2 has to be manually closed all the time now, and if you forget you'll have a dead battery...i know charge it right...problem is the ipad battery is only good for so many charges..."

Prior to BeatMaker 2.3 we had background audio too, the red bar just means the audio interface is also using inputs (ie: microphone), so regarding battery consumption it should quite similar. That said we added background mode as an option in the 2.3.1 maintenance update.

Regarding the effects and audio processors we are aware the current set BeatMaker 2 provides is not perfect. We plan to add new effects in an update, however I'd like to get your feedback on what is bugging you with our audio recording system.

The filesystem is something touchy as it is paired to a database, there is room for improvement, such as self-contained presets/projects. We have some plans to update this as well in the future.

You can however transfer multiple files and directories at once with DropBox. When you enter a directory and press the "upload" button (works for downloads too), the whole directory and its content will be transferred.

We are working on a maintenance update as I mentioned previously which fixes some issues we have collected.

We try to bring a coherent set of features with every "major" update, and we do think 2.3 is a great step forward, especially with audio tracks and streaming! We are aware there are some improvements to be made on file management and the general workflow.

    The team.

Beatmaker acts like it doesnt know where anything goes when reloading stuff other folks made.

I will be ecstatic the day your effects come out

as far as comparing why i would use auria instead of beatmake2 to record audio...well that is pretty self explanitory what specifics do you need to know and I will go into it...edit right on the sequence screen is a huge advantage for a starter point. fades and automation curves on the actual waveform...using my finger to slide chunks of data...i can go for a long time here.

    COMPRESSION on the input.

It drains the battery way quicker now...its very noticable.

when i tried to transfer a folder it made me do it piece by piece...i will attempt this again to make sure

I am just not into the slide the little arrows to move audio chunks thing...

thank you for reading my concerns, complaints, and replying in a quick fashion'
