USB Turntable and Camera Connection Kit
It works! I got my ION TTUSB turntable to play into the new Audio Input instrument in Beatmaker 2.3 (thanks Intua!) via the USB Camera Connection kit and nothing else.
However, when I plug my headphones in the iPad's headphone jack to monitor what I'm recording it seems things get confused and the truntable's audio disappears.
Somehow, earlier today, I was able to both record and monitor audio simultaneously... But I can't seem to recreate that setup. I wish I remembered what steps allowed this... any ideas?

I always use a dj mixer, so the USB goes to cck to iPad, and the tt output goes to your mixer. That's it. Mine even plays back at the correct phono level or line level.
