Double press the home button. When the application switcher comes up from the bottom, hold your finger down on the BM2 icon. When the X comes up, hit it.

ok perfect as i did, thanks
  • Hi,

With the new 2.3.1 update, BeatMaker 2 will turn off automatically.
To enable background mode, just launch the Settings app and turn "Keep running in background" on. That's it !

    Cheers,
    Mathieu.

    Be warned....
With "keep running in background" OFF....you need to SAVE Often.. Press Ipad home button and you lose RECENT work.
  • Hi,

    LeeNardi, just to clarify:

Upon exiting your project will be saved to an auto-save file.
To restore it, launch BeatMaker 2 and select "LOAD AUTO-SAVE"

    Nothing will be lost.
    Cheers.

Yes thank you Intua...ok I got it...I load "last autosave" ,project is now named "last session" ,though this is not the name of my last project,(I think this has been mentioned before) I just rename it and its all good.

For those of you new at recording I have learnt to save every time I change something or take a break..it is by far better to do that than lose something major you have done.
I choose "save as" ( ie song1, next song time song2 then song3 etc etc) rather then just "save" over current project and then I go back later and delete all the previous saved songs once poject is complete.

Intua.....Thank you for the work on this app, and for hanging around to explain the above to me, I'm really enjoying myself.keep up the good work.

    Hello,
sorry but I just can't turn it off regularly (in iPad2 iOS6).
Each time I quit, comes the red bar on top and "recording" message gets stuck up there.
Also, though enabled in the setting, Beat Maker2 refuses to play in background.
Am I missing something basic in the settings, or is it an issue on my iPad?

    Any help?

    BTW
I'm trying to make BM2 my main daw on iPad, it has the best workflow, exactly as in a bigger computer, and allowed me to start recording from the first 5 minutes of use: GREAT app!!!
  • are you shure, what you call quitting BM regularly is really quitting regularly (as described in post 2 of this thread)?

And everything is described here, so if you read carefully...

Hello Vogliadicane, thanks a lot for your answer.
The fact is that when I double click the home buttom, while running Beat Maker 2, its icon does not appears in the list of background apps. So I cannot follow the procedure described. I think this has to be related to the fact that I still cannot run BM2 in background. So, I think I have an issue... Is there any way to reinstall Beat Maker 2 without losing my projects?
  • That's actually strange.

You can always backup your files using an ftp-client, before deleting BM. Filezilla works well for me. You get the info to connect from beatmaker (symbol with monitor and iPhone/file transfer).

    Yes, it's strange.
I write to the support then.
    Thank you so much anyway <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
  • There seems to be some confusion here, but its pretty standard iOS stuff:
Simply press the home button once while Bm2 is open. It will then go into the background.
now press the home button twice, and hold BM2 icon until it shakes, then press the little "X" to quit BM2 altogether.

    Hello dubhausdisco!
That's what I do, it's the only way to quit BM2 indeed. I wonder if there is a relation to this "unusual quit process" and the fact that I cannot play Beat Maker 2 in background, though enabled in the settings (and I get no white square to enable communication with other apps in the audio setting in Beat Maker's interface): is this function (a very important one for me) available to other users or is it an issue only in my iPad?

But anyway Beat Maker 2 seems to be simply the best environment on iPad to write down sketches, chop a sample, and so on.....
