I'll be sticking with Audiobus until iOS 6 is jailbroken. I absolutely cannot give up the file management I get from the iFile app.

Apple not allowing user file management is dumb...
I have considered jailbreaking just for ifile
  • Anyone from intua want to chime in on ios 6 compat?

Im interested in seeing what is going to come of the longer iphone 5 screen...
How devs deal with the space...curious to what use it will have
  • It will probably letterbox pre-iPhone 5 apps lol

Holding off on updating the iPad, but 6 makes my iPhone 4 a bit quicker it seems, and bm2 runs fine on the phone so far.. I haven't even ran it on the phone since I got the iPad

I (obviously) highly suggest jailbreaking for iFile. Not only can you move folders of wav files between apps instantly but you can also move midi files between apps which comes in handy. You don't have to worry about emailing them to yourself one by one and then worry if it's going to "Open In" the right app you need it for when you open the attachment in the email.
  • Thanks for the tip-
Right now I only use BM2.. Direct from vinyl

  • Hi everyone,

I would suggest you wait a bit before updating to iOS6 as we're working on a special update for it.There is a few bugs with iOS6 and BM2, the most problematic being the FTP server not being able to close. We are working full time on this update so stay tuned!

    Cheers,
    Mathieu.

I purchased the app over the weekend and already had IOS6 on my iPhone4S. I cannot import files from the iPod section of the phone. It hangs at 0% - doesn't matter which song I choose. Is this an IOS6 bug, or something else?

    Hello GregP,

Very strange, on our test devices the iPod import works just fine.
Do you have any free storage space (you can check this via iTunes) on your iPhone ?
Are you importing very large files ? In that case the first decode step can take a bit longer, thus having '0%' displayed for a few seconds.
What kind of files are you trying to import? MP3? AAC? some other format?

Hope we can solve your issue.
    Cheers,
    Mathieu.

Apple is pushing the update to ios6 by making it impossible to use the app store for updates without it. You can only accept the terms ofthe new app store with ios 6. I had about 30+ apps waiting to update...so i had to make the jump. Cyberduck definitely isnt working any longer.

The most irritating thing with the new beatmaker2 is if you have sleep mode set to on on your idevice...bm2 will cut totally off, and you will either lose or have to reload your project. Used to the way it was...this is an annoying new disturbance...so until its fixed head over to settings and turn off the sleep mode....it will also cut off dropbox transfers as well.

    Hi Mathieu.

On the import issue, I was able to determine it has something to do with iTunes Match - which is how I download my songs to my phone. I tried a recently purchased song and it imported without error - so I deleted one of the older songs I was trying to import, and downloaded again. Import worked. Both before and after this import the song played on your preview, but prior to redownload - I found out it was actually hanging the app. I could not cancel out of the import - and I waited over 5 minutes (with tons of free space on the phone). Not sure, and I won't have to do this often, so I'm just happy I found a work around. Thanks, Greg.

    MicGee:

As of the last version, background mode is disabled by default.
You need to enable background mode within the Settings app.

    Cheers,
    Vincent.

Regarding iFile, you can also just link from a central sample database (on iPad) to many different apps, thusly saving the space of having them all copied in different apps!

Sometimes this doesn't work, but where it does work, it's so worth it!

this is pretty off topic, but it's a really nice feature: with iOS 6 you can upload images with 'browse' buttons in safari. if you jailbroken, however, you can get a cydia app called Safari Upload Enabler, which lets you upload anything from iFile, your Dropbox, and pictures from the pictures app.

also, works on iOS 5 so u don't need to update...

multiroute audio is probably worth the update if you dj. no more headphone jack splitters.
