Keyboard Question

I was wondering if their was any kinda keyboard Put their I could buy that has its own sounds and use those sounds in BM2 instead of the ones in the keyboard presets that come with beat maker 2 or is this not possible?

    What I'm asking is if I could use a keyboard that has its own sound versus one that just controls the bm2 presets?

    Sure- you can do that.
    Use the keyboard as a midi controller and have BM2 trigger the sounds in the keyboard.
    Make sure to disable midi thru though!

    Really this can be done! Thats great. So if the keyboard has its own sounds can it work both ways where it can be used to control bm2 keyboard presets as well as recording the sounds on the keyboard makes too? Or do you only get one of these options depending upon the keyboard you purchase?

    Also what are some keyboards that have this ability?

    Your enthusiasm is great! Its a little beyond what I could write here for you, but here goes:
    Basically the keyboard has to have internal sounds, midi implementation (every modern keyboard has it), and USB connectivity (unless you are running an interface that will accept the DIN MIDI inputs/outputs. From there (it's been a while- bear with me) there should be a "local on/off" setting in the keyboard, which basically disconnects the keyboard from its internal sound module.
    Then set up your midi channel send/receive in BM2 and make sure it matches up to the keyboard. Now data from your keyboard is sent out of the midi out, thru BM2 where it records, and back to your keyboard where it triggers the sounds. Make sense?

    Yes it does. But what I was wondering is if that is the case then what if I wanted to use the internrnal sounds from the keyboard versus the sounds bm2 comes with. Would I set up as a midi out?

    That is what I just described- all you do is create a keyboard instrument (blank) with the correct midi channel info for the physical keyboard in BM2

    Oh thank you. So how would I switch between the two modes. Like if I set up bm2 as a midi in would that be a mode where I could use bm2 sounds versus the sounds of the midi keyboard or is it the other way around?or is it as simple as flicking the switch in the keyboard.

    Thanks for your patience as we'll since I'm a noob to all of this.

    It would help to know what kind of audio/midi interface you are using with BM2- and iPhone or iPad?

    iPad and I have none yet. Which is why I also asked earlier if their where any keyboards anyone could recomend that had this feature.

    I don't know of any that will do that.
