Beatmaker 2, Mac,Ableton questions

Now I know that it is possible for a Mac to connect with ableton and I see the guide that is stickied as well.

But the thing is I want to be able to chop my samples and ableton and use beatmaker 2 as an midi controller in the drum machine to lay down the chops. How do I go about doing that?

Also if I wanted to use the keys from beatmaker 2 since I have no midi keyboard how would I set that up?

Last but not least could I use the keys to enter the drums or samples versus drum machine? How would I set that up as well?

Also can you do the same beatmaker 2 midi thing with a windows pc and fl studio or another Daw?

I probably should have asked this sonner since I'm getting my MacBook pro tommorow.

    Looks like you just need to make some very simple midi connections to get this going.

    LOL but im unaware as to how all this works. Although im techno savvy and can learn. Im new to ableton. I guess, I will try and if I need help I will contact you via pm. But do you know if Beatmaker 2 can be hooked up to a windows 7 with FL. Since I have both options on my mac, and I have windows 7 running using bootcamp.

    You'll need to make a connection in OSX's Audio/Midi settings using the Network midi tool.

    Here is a step by step guide...

    1. Open Audio/Midi Setup in OSX
    2. Double Click 'Network'
    3. Open BM2 on iPad
    4. Select your iPad and Click 'Connect' in the Midi Network Setup window
    5. Open Midi settings in BM2
    6. Send Midi to Network Session 1 from BM2
    7. Set Remote and Track to 'ON' in Ableton's Midi Setup for 'Network Session'

    Try using an adhoc connection between the iPad and laptop for lowest latency.

    edit/ I have no clue how this would work with Windows but for OSX that should do it.

    Thanks but I also have some more general quesyions about midi and beatmaker 2.

    What is midi in and midi out? As well as clock send and recieve?
