Wanting to import a instrumental to record audio over, is

edited December 2012 in Support
Is this possible? I have been having to put it into one of the samplers and just triggering it at the start then having to wait until it gets to a certain section to check it out.

Basically want to be able to punch in near the desired area

I basically just want to import a mp3 or wav and have it set in the arrangement section <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

    Have you tried using an audio track instead of the sampler? In track view you can import a sample and place it where you like.

    Hmm weird it's actually not working

    If I am getting is correctly you are saying go to import ( option on the bottom of the screen) while in the arrangement view , did I get that wrong?

    Appreciate this !

    No, I'm saying create an audio track from the home menu. So instead of a drum track or a keyboard track create an audio track. In track view click the + on the audio track and import the sample from there.

    Happy I could help. Just be mindful that if you edit the audio file while in track view it will edit the original file as well. So if you want to make changes to a sample make sure you make a copy of it first.

    Using the audio tracks is the main way I incorporate other apps in my workflow. I use virtual midi to record so I can adjust the midi if need be then I copy the file from the other app any way I can.

    On a side note beatmaker 2 just updated so you can now copy files through apple file sharing. Very useful and efficient.

    Thank you for the heads up, much appreciated. This has helped a load. Apple file sharing? Going to google that. I have been using Dropbox to go between my main system and iPad

    Apple file sharing is when you connect your iPad to iTunes, go to the app section in iTunes, and below there you will see apps that have file sharing access.
