Check out Samplr. It's an instrument that lets you play music by touching the wav of the sample. Has many ways to play the sample to. It was made with the touch screen in mind.

Geo synthesizer is an instrument app that let's you play your music in an innovative way with the touchscreen.

Korg has some really good apps that I think are still on sale like korg ims20 and the new ipolysix synthesizer.

My most used app for sounds is probably sample tank which is also on sale. The full package of instruments is also available at a reduced rate.

Auria is probably the best app in the App Store for mixing your music. If you are familiar with how to mix and the tools in auria I would recommend that over anything. The proQ equalizer is amazing. Drumacog let's you replace the drum sounds in your audio files. As nice as the app is though its pretty expensive compared to other iOS apps. It's $50 for the app and the in app purchases bring everything to over $150. The proQ equalizer is the most expensive IAP at $30.

Is there a specific type of app your looking for?

Besides the must-haves, that you shurely know (Sunrizer, Addictive Synth) I would recommend Alchemy. It is a Sound Monster with extremely good effects also. If you remember the Wavestation (and I got the feeling, that you might be long enough in the business to know it ) Alchemy is a bit like it, at least concerning complexity of sounds or better say sound scapes, which is one of the main strength of Alchemy. Disadvantage: you cannot really create your own sounds without the (expensive) desktop version. But the libraries available are huge and mostly great.

And I agree with Wario, Samplr is outstanding, you somehow get the feeling to really hold the samples in your hands when manipulating.

And the App, that wowed me most since a long long time is impactor. Never got the feeling before to have a real instrument and not just an App. Excellent!

Great suggestions y'all!
I do have Auria, so ill revisit the fab. I've also got glitchbreaks, impaktor, funkbox,dm1(free!)

Anyone mess with genome? Looks like you can create "scenes" to trigger bm2.

Sunrizer is next I presume! Thanks!

What a great feeling app... And it sounds great. These iOS synths make me want to sell my virusb! (Not really, but wow!)

Grain Science, if you're into making spooky ambient pads and stuff like that. Top notch synth for that.

Genome is great! I really can suggest it. You're also able to control Beatmaker with it...

Genome was the reason why I bought an iPad!
