Is there a good reason everyone puts the toolbar at the top?

why is this?
i just end up looking at my hands all night.. imagine the beauty of having all of the transport and toolbar functions at the bottom of the screen....

agreed, the buttons accessed most often need to be closer and not further away.

The top of the screen is the common Computer DAW style layout?

    right?

Auria is the most annoying in this respect. anyway, i just think that the workable screen space would "look" bigger if the tools were at the bottom.

Great idea. I never thought of this. But it does make sense to put it at the bottom.
  • Hello every one,
There are several reasons why we put the transport on top of the screen:
    - To prevent accidentally pressing the transport with the palm of your hands.
    - We thought that global controls on the top and editor tools on the bottom made sense.
    - We found it better looking and less confusing at the time than having a doubled menu on the bottom.

    Cheers,
    Vincent.

    Thanks for the insight Vincent!
Not complaining, but it just occurred to me that a tactile control surface in the hardware realm (mpc etc) always has the transport at the bottom etc.
    Happy new year all!
