Lost everything???

edited April 2013 in Support
So I only bought Beatmaker 2 on Wednesday, but, after working with the audiobus glitches and recording a couple of guitar tracks (via AmpKit) and adding drum lines, I cut about one of the audio tracks to re-record a centre section.

I then got distracted and had to shut down beatmaker, when I returned, as usual I picked restore last auto save.... And kerblamo!!! Nothing! All gone.

Wonderful. Yes, I should have backed up every 5 minutes etc, but seriously, this is very worrying, where did all my work go? When I open 'Last Session' it's only a 62KB file, and there is nothing in the Recordings folder, so is that it? All the work lost? Every time I swap apps do I have to save? Is there no safety net?

You should always save. I never count on the autosave....and back up

I guess it's lesson learned. Thankful it only happened after a couple of days.

In iOS land, state saving is kinda assumed to be there and be reliable. Looks like I found the exception to the rule.

Personally I don't care for the "auto save" behavior of other apps.. I like to control when I save etc... Saving constantly is just a reality of digital audio

    ditto what dubhausdisco said.

One major improvement they need to make with the 'Auto Save' functions is to have it say what the name of the project was that you last worked on.

Right now its pretty useless if you forget the name of your project.
