Mic Input? + Looping?

edited April 2013 in Support
Couple questions..

Is it possible to use a separate mic input other than the built in mic?

aaaand

Is beatmaker okay to use for looping or is there something I can use in conjunction with beatmaker specifically for looping?

You can loop with beatmaker 2. By going to the session view, setting the loop points and then pressing the loop button. This will enable the Loop Record function which can be used during play back or recording so that you a section of the song loops untill you press stop. If you need advice on locating these options. you can always reply here or check out the manual.

As far as a mic, I believe it is possible to use external mic's but am not sure. I know that they're is headphones out their with mic's on them that can be used. but those mic's usually are of poor audio quality.

I think Loopy Hd is much better designed for realtime looping functions, especially if you want to record more than one loop whilst working in realtime .

Whilst Beatmaker has phrase sampling and audio track recording ;realtime looping is another type of recording again, requiring bpm timed automisation.
Beatmaker2 can loop its sequencer page ,but any audio recording in is still linear and needs the sequencer to stop to save the audio ...so you cant create realtime multi loops either in parallel/ sound on sound or for verse / chorus quick changing .

The two apps work differently , but can work well together .Beatmaker can provide the backing sequences for Loopy looping, and Loopy recorded loops can then be copied into Beatmaker for arrangement/ mixdown as already perfectly bpm looped wav files.
