How does "sends" work?

edited June 2013 in Support
4 sends available per track.
Is the signal multiplied by 4? split?

I have the following problem (simplified):
One track. 2 FX buses - FX1 with Reverb, FX2 with LP filter.
When Send1 and Send2 are at maximum levels, what is expected?
All track1 sound will be filtered? half of it?

Thanks!

  • Think of it as parallel- you've got your audio on track one. Then if you send 100% signal to two different busses, you've essentially got 2 parallel "copies" of that audio running through your busses.
    Make sense?
  • Thanks.
    1. Assuming no effects and db on all tracks is 0 - is the track volume doubled?
    2. If I use only one 100% send, will all the audio signal run through the send bus?
  • 1. I believe that "doubling" the audio signal as you describe should yield an increase of +6 db at the master fader, but yes it's like having 2 of the same track. It's been a while since I've been up on db's....

    2. No, it's like you said in your first post- a send is basically a splitter that you can control
