After 2.5.9 update, "run in background" switch is gone...

After 2.5.9 update, is running in the background no longer an option? There is no switch in settings. Same is true for database maintenance switch that used to be there.

    Updating to 9.2 solved the problem of the disappearing background toggle, HOWEVER... BM2 still will not run in the background. It crashes immediately every time I hit the home button.
