At least one more bank of samples would be very useful, very pleased with Beatmaker, i used a mpc 60 for years.this is a fraction of the size and 10x the features, now if there was only a way to put midi in/outs on my itouch?...mmmmmm keep up the good work!

I'm guessing that the 1.3 update will include some more beatpacks.

I think he means what I wish for.. more actual sounds available to us at one time.. 16 pads is fine to tap on the screen with.. but the program is crying for a bank feature or a scrolling pad view. Of course.. if you make it scrollable, there needs to be a lock so that you can tap the pads without accidentally scrolling it. That said, with 8GB and 16GB models.. there is gobs of room for more than 16 sounds. If you add even 1 bank.. but preferrably 4, 8 or 16 banks of 16 pads.. all accessible in one sequence/song, you've just made this program comparable to most MPCs. Keep in mind that they have no added pitch/pan effects per note. In my opinion.. adding up to 4 banks of 16 sounds minimum, pitch/pan per note (in sequence mode), and as someone else said.. the ability to have a sample start/stop at a given offset/length would just put this app right up there with professional MPCs. It may not be nearly as easy to use as an MPC (with respect to having knobs/sticks to pitch bend/pan in real time), but for a phone.. to be able to pretty much rival the smaller Yamaha and likes of portable music programs.. WELL worth it. I'd pay $50 for this app.. although now that I've paid $20.. I hope they dont raise the price or charge for updates. <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

There's no charge for the update. Please read Intua announcement from the first page.

Yeah, I was talking about pad banks....Bank A,Bank B..etc... 16 pads is not enough with drums, bass, vocal samples, etc. I usually use at least one bank just for drums. I don't know what the limit of the hardware/software is, but it would be cool.... love the beatmaker tho, my buddies are all running out to buy ipod touch's so that can run beatmaker...lol the fact that you can use your own samples and kits sealed the deal...

Of all the features coming.. the only three that I really really need to be useful is pitch, pan and more pads per song. The 16 sounds just kills the ability to do much in terms of using vocals, drums, bass, synth, etc. That's not to say I don't appreciate the app.. but 16 sounds is very limiting. What concerns me is that to me would be a pretty big feature to include in the "whats coming" list.. and they didn't. I am really surprised more people haven't requested that one. I know you can do a fair amount with 16 sounds... but at least 32 would be a huge help. Like I said.. I would pay $50 if this program had 8 pad banks, the pitch/pan feature coming.. really that's about it. The rest of the stuff is nice, but if I can pitch a sample and hopefully not get too much of the chipmunk sound.. that's great. But I am guessing to compare to multi-sampled synth, you'll need to use several pads for one sound. I would be pretty damn impressed if they employed a pitch algorithm like that in ableton Live or Melodyne.. where you can pitch the sound and it wont affect the duration. Even so.. to be perfectly fair.. this is a MPC basically.. it's not meant to be a multi-sampled synth.. and honestly I don't think I would want it to. I can use my computer to record some synth riffs, then use this to put together a song with the riffs. Oddly, I find this program easier to use than any of the software I use.. to make patterns. If the output sound of a song was 24-bit 48Khz (is it.. not sure), this would be my choice to use for putting together beats, bass lines, etc. It's just so damn simple. I bet Intua could make a Windows/Mac based app with a bit more power and sell it pretty well.
