HD Cell Animation with Beatmaker Soundtrack

edited December 2008 in General
I just made my second experiment in animation and have used a soundtrack that I created with the beatmaker real fast. Nothing too fancy, using a default kit from beatmaker that many may recognize. Spent a lot of time making the animation cell by cell (not 3d or flash or anything). I just made the song randomly while playing with beatmaker but since it was only about 2 minutes it was perfect for the animation and I tried to sync up the timing a bit to make it more appealing. Hope you all like it, and if you do, PLEASE COMMENT! hehe. Always sucks when you draw and render 1500 frames of art in HD and get like 30 views and 2 comments ;oP Hope you enjoy the tunes and the animation! Just shows how beatmaker can invade all forms of art and helps with creativity and capturing your spontaneous beats! Love the product and anxiously await the new update!!

Here is the link, and be sure to click the button that says "watch in HD", youtube supports HD now! I created this animation with that specifically in mind, and while I wouldnt call it true HD, its wide screen 1280 x 720 , 25fps (drawn in 12fps), and is a lot better quality than normal youtube quality.

Hey..pretty kewl. The beat is kinda funky..goes well with the video.

Question for you.. given that my screen is already WAY over HD... why do I need to click a special button to get HD? I am curious how you made the video as normal quality and HD quality? Did you have to upload two videos.. saving it to both formats before uploading.. or does youtube allow you to upload an "hd" video (and if so..how does it determine its HD or not), then automatically show the original non-HD version? I would think it would always show HD..but perhaps with the online services now offering youtube over there cable.. they keep it lo-fi just in case its being shown on tv and not a computer.

Cool animation and track! Don't know where you get the patience to put that many cells together. I've been using BM to make tracks for photography videos using some of the provided sounds and some from kits I've made on my own. Here are a couple of the vids (Sorry, no HD files here):

You can look in your youtube preferences and change it so it shows the videos in HD when available. Youtube is just now really starting to get the HD stuff going and widescreen. To get the HQ or HD button to see in high quality you just need to upload a high quality HD video, it will detect it in most cases and then convert it to low quality and high quality automatically. There is a tutorial or two on youtube for the exact specifications to get the HD (25+ fps, certain resolution, not FLV format etc.)

I'm using Final Cut Express on Mac for the vids. Love the app.
