Where do we get more sounds?

I know that the store has sounds but most of them are instruments, but where do we get other sounds, samples, drum kits?

  • I am in the process of organising some stuff, stay tuned ;)

  • Intended for Op1 but cool for BM3 too.

After slice to transient is added in BM3 these sample chains will be a goldmine ;)

There are some threads in other forums with lists of good websites to find free stuff. From synth/drum/instrument samples to totally obscure sound/field/noise recordings etc. Next time i see one of those lists pop up I'll post a link in here...

Reddit user ozzmotik made a whole bunch of Beatmaker 2 format drum kits available in the Drumkits sub. These work fine in BM3, and there are some very nice kits!

  • The easiest way is to record some, it is a sampler after all...

It's really not though, is it? More satisfying, sure, but if we're talking about drum kits it's much easier to load a pre-made kit than to sample all the required sounds and build a group. I'm all for making original kits, and I think we're all aware that BM3 is also a sampler, but OP asked for available sounds.

  • You can also export a lot of other sounds from IOS apps into BM3, Imaschine for example, theres a ton of expansions for it that can be imported into BM3, also IMpc Pro, you can export all your sounds from there. Theres a bunch of IOS stuff that can be exported directly into BM3 or you can send stuff to Audioshare and then to BM3.

  • Fl studio has a great sound generator to sample from as well with gadget. I create a lot of my drums from fl studio and sample them in.

I have been hosting Egoist in BM3 for my transient detection duties. Set up a series of detected slices, record them in and they chop to grid / save to pads really nicely.
