here are some feature requests

1.swing per pad in pad mode during playback and record.
2.hold and erase button without going into record mode.(press the pad with erase button at parts want to delete while sequence is running.
3.extend pattern length without going into pattern editor window - that would be supercool.
4.convert stereo sample to mono left/mono right as opposed to left/right summed to mono.
5.an option to collapse a pattern i.e kick/snare/hat to seperate patterns providing clearer seperate editing if needed.
6.save Audio unit presets - at the moment the save preset option is there but when pressed nothing happens.
7.remove the brown background in slice mode
8.when typing numbers in knob parameters for fine adjustments the numbers don't correspond with knob numbers.
9.copy a sample in browser options
10.preview sounds/samples in dropbox like Audioshare can do
11. an option to use the timeline playhead/cursor for editing and dragging to go through a track in song mode like Auria.
12.vertical zoom in song screen very much needed.
13.mute notes/parts in song mode screen.
14. option to change transport display and/or timeline display to minutes/seconds from bars/beats (toggle)

Apart from all the above coming from 20 years on the Akai MPC / S950 Beatmaker really is excellent

:-)

  • Solid list. Surprised I didn't think of some of these.

    1. There is already swing per pad, do you mean you want the current control visible/accesable on the pad performance screen ?
    2. You want the current erase button on screen at all times ? (I think you have to go in to record currently as a safety feature, so you don't accidentally hit erase all the time, this is normal behaviour on most drum machines)
    3. Just grab the right arrow on the pattern and extend it in the arranger, maybe you mean change the length from elsewhere ?
    4. This gets talked about all the time and never actually been feature requested for some reason hahahaha, i think @mathieugarcia already said it will happen at some point, can't remember to be honest.
    5. This is commonly known as expand or explode in other DAWs, would definitely be nice to get it both ways for sure, I suspect we may see this when there is a rework of tracks to support MIDI tracks.
    6. Requested here and in the list https://intua.net/forums/discussion/5164/viking-standard-au-presets?new=1
    7. I would like to say that this is a fail of massive proportions, but in comparison to the now rather horrible garrish white and red buttons, this is not that bad, but yes it is a massive fail, for an app that looks so slick, there really are some poor UI decisions.
    8. Requested here and in the list https://intua.net/forums/discussion/4988/moved-from-br-request-some-text-inputs-have-no-relationship-to-there-destination#latest
    9. This would be good, but heres a little workaround for you, only takes a couple extra clicks, press edit, select the sample, zip it, move it to where you want it, unzip it, again it is a workaround and copy paste would be much better.
    10. Requested here and in the list https://intua.net/forums/discussion/4586/dropbox-audioshare-google-drive-preview#latest
    11. Can you explain this one better, if you put the snap on free you can scrub through the timeline or if the snap is on it will snap to that division, personally i think it needs its own snap setting from the arranger snap, so you have the option of free scrub without changing the snap.
    12. Talked about but never requested, good one.

  • Some of these are 'out of reach' for the BM3 developers, one of them is sound preview for DropBox, that is something DropBox has to implement.

  • That isn't quite true @Samu, they could cache the download and preview that way, but then you are just using RAM instead of storage space and both still require a download, so you may as well have downloaded and previewed, i think the request is for people who have ran out of storage, and while it can be done (Like is said, cache to RAM) it is a fools gold.

ok - maybe can be done though as been done in Audioshare.

DropBox has a preview feature in their iOS app already and that could be included in the API that developers get to include in their app. That would be the only sensible solution instead of building a custom drop-box import feature.

cheers for feedback and info - it really is the best music production app on ios - just a few things to smooth out will make it super top notch

yep as i said Audioshare has Dropbox preview. I can live without it but it really would be great

what i meant in number 3. - extend the pattern in the same pattern window where you initially set the duration of pattern / duplicate pattern etc. Also a quantize option in this would be cool

  • In the song view ?
Where the buttons at the bottom say Edit/Repeat/Duplicate/Set Loop/Remove ?
You can drag the right arrow on the pattern itself to resize it, you can also hit the three dots next to the pattern name bottom left and change its duration there using - + but alas, it doesn't and hasn't ever actually worked, not sure if it has been reported to the developers.

1.how's it going with regards to swing per pad - could be on pad performance or sample editor screen - that and a hold erase pad button while sequence is running. Unless the users hands are over shaky to accidently hit the erase or if simpler can be used in record only I know theres a push erase button but hold erase like an mpc would be cool - this really speeds up workflow

  • edited November 2017

What is Hold erase and Push erase ?
Swing per pad already exists, look in the quantize settings, in fact it is not just per pad, it is selected events, so you could swing events on a single pad or across pads too.

  • ok cool On the akai mpc you can hit a pad then go into quantize page will check out your info though - i know can do quantize notes in pattern editor but i meant in the sampler edit/sampler pad page
    cheers though for info
akai mpc - u can hold erase button and hold the pad together while sequence is playing to erase a sample hit in real time -

  • edited November 2017

you can also do press erase then hold pad on the impc pro app
beatmaker does this but with the akai stuff you hold and auto toggle erase on/off
must say though iam very impressed with the global swings in beatmaker - super accurate and flexible.

  • saying that though all the above are not a top priority - i would say my top choice would be the split stereo sample into mono left /right..that would make Audioshare conversion and app more or less abandoned - thats really all i use Audioshare for
