Dark Dub with Rucker Park kit
Dark Dub tune written mostly in BeatMaker using Rucker Park kit.

The tune here was started in BeatMaker using the Rucker Park kit. The basic elements of the song were made on the iPhone using BeatMaker. You'll hear the Rucker kit for sure <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
I don't have BeatPak so I transfered the song to the computer using headphone out of iPhone into Line In on the computer, and recorded the track as a wav file, using Audacity [audacityteam.org].
Then loaded that wav file into Reaper [reaper.fm], added some bass guitar loops and one midi bass part using NI's free Kore Player, also added some synth strings, and some reverb. Then rendered this mix to 224kbs mp3 file and uploaded to soundcloud.
I think soundcloud re-encodes uploads to 128kbs mp3 for their player (not sure), but clicking "download" you get the original file (I think).
You can listen to tunes on soundloud with the iPhone by clicking (tapping?) the blue "mp3" button above the player, (or by tappng "download"?), that launches iPhone's player.

I didn't know that Korg had a free midi program. I'll have to check it out although I've been doing alright with Creative's Vienna Soundfont Studio which is also free.
I don't want to pimp other products on the board, but search for "NI Kore Player" you'll find it quick. No big deal, I was looking for a quick bass sound, and picked the Kore player at random.
