quick qeustion about pads

edited January 2009 in General
I am new to beatmaker but have figured it out for the most part. I was wondering if there is any way to use pads from one set, and use pads from another set to create my own custom set of 16 pads? and can I do this from my phone? I also have an electric piano, is there anyway to get that involved? Thanks,
Brad

    Hey Brad,

Yes you can have a custom set of 16 pads. There are a few different ways to go about making your own "kit". The easiest way would probably be to start with BeatPack(the software application used to make kits from your PC or Mac) and drag and drop each sound that you want to the pads in BeatPack and then transfer this kit to Beatmaker via Wifi. The second way would be to mix and match some of the sounds that are already in Beatmaker and create your own kit that way....to do this you'll need to be in pad mode, press the pad that you want to change sounds, then press "Sample>Load>" and then navigate to the sound you want using Beatmakers menus.

Concerning your piano, you could record it to your PC(running the line out from your Piano into your PC ) and then transfer to Beatmaker using the BeatPack software....or if recording into your PC is not an option, you can always use the audio record feature in Beatmaker,.....which in general will sound lo-fi and cheap but can also have a cool effect on the track. Anyway I hope this helps . <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
