Is Beatmaker for me?

edited May 2009 in General
Hi,

I realize BM may be overkill for me, but if I can use it for this then I'm willing to buy it:

I play shakuhachi, and like to record myself practicing. I've been using generic recording programs on the iPhone for this so far, but the sound is totally dead. I would like to be able to add some reverb/echo to make it sound better. I would also like to use an external mic.

Would BM allow me to add a little echo to my tracks, and can I use a self-powered mic with it as well? I have this mic I would love to record with: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-ECMMS907-Digital-Recording-Microphone/dp/B00001W0DT

Thanks a lot!

    As I remarked before, I recommend Beatmaker to any musician...it's not only for practice playback, so I'm pretty sure it will open a whole new world of possibilities, even when practicing.
    It records just as well with the external mic. on the iphone...otherwise give a listen to some BM songs which were made with audio recording.
    I'm sure it is a great app for any musician! good luck and have fun! <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
