Does AI Background Removal Work Well for Old or Low-Quality Photos?

I found some really old family photos that I want to restore and maybe use for a collage. The problem is, the backgrounds are distracting, and I’d love to remove them. Do AI tools work on low-quality or black-and-white pictures, or do they only handle modern, high-res images?

  • Good question! I tried SnapEdit on some old scanned photos, and it actually did a decent job. Of course, if the quality is too low, the AI might struggle a bit, but for most images, it works surprisingly well. Sometimes I combine it with other editing tools to sharpen the final result. Definitely worth trying!

  • This reminds me—I should really go through my family albums. I bet there are a lot of pictures that could be improved with tools like these!

  • AI background removal can be hit or miss with old or low-quality photos. It usually depends on contrast and clarity — the better the input, the better the result. I’ve seen similar tech work surprisingly well in tools that answer things like how to find your head shape, so it’s definitely improving!
