Please add an add to layer function

There is an add to new layer function which I feel is redundant. Please add an add to layer function also. It makes the workflow for sampling one layer at a time much more efficient.

    I'm comparing this function to the BM2 keyboard sampling function. This function in BM2 also adds the sample to the next available keygroup. Way more efficient. Workflow, workflow, workflow.
