Step modulator
Numbers along bottom to indicate the step number. Or at least a small dot every 4th step. Just some kind of visual indication to help pick out precise location.
Also, unnecessary but cool would be some some kind of animated indication during playback. Like if there was a dot at the bottom of each step and they changed colour as the playhead passed along.
