Excellent idea jason7. I've been looking for kits and samples and they aren't that easy to find. This is to hoping this thread will evolve.

Here's my small contribution:

I just got the domain: ibeatmaker.com and am looking for some people to help me to manage it.
A static page of custom kits with download links is the first thing I want to put up. So let me know if you are interested in helping and I'll give you access.
Eventually I'll install wiki software so we can build a proper knowledge base.

Let me know if this is something that makes sense or what else would be more usefull.
We do have a forum here with tons of valuable information. But it is hard to find important stuff and that's where a wiki would be very helpful, I think.
Let me know and check it out:

Cool, I was thinking of creating a list as well for them, definitely is needed. I guess I would suggest to put that blogging software as a separate link for news or something, or just add a link that says "DOWNLOAD FREE KITS HERE" so they dont need to search through the forum for the kits. I would like to see something like:

Link on the front page: "DOWNLOAD FREE BEATMAKER KITS"

In the kit page categories like:

METAL/ALTERNATIVE/ROCK
- kit 1
- kit 2
- kit 3
TRIP HOP/HIP HOP
- kit 1
- kit 2
- kit 3
TECHNO/HOUSE
- kit 1
- kit 2
- kit 3
GLITCH/EXPERIMENTAL
- kit 1
- kit 2
- kit 3
NOISE/INDUSTRIAL
- kit 1
- kit 2
- kit 3
JAZZ/INDIE
- kit 1
- kit 2
- kit 3
WORLD/ETHNIC/PERCUSSION
- kit 1
- kit 2
- kit 3

the kits under each category as they are added. Just a suggestion. Feel free to hit me up if you need any help:

hey brainphreak.
you can create a wordpress blog
www.wordpress.com
called
beatmaker.wordpress.com
and then post user kits there too.

Carmot did exactly that and bought the domain www.ibeatmaker.com , I like the blog but am more fond of an easy to navigate list, this is what I have so far.

ok, it would be better if you host the files on your server because people may end up moving, renaming and removing the files so we could end up with broken links here.

I Agree so far all the ones I have linked are on my server but also I have the link to the original forum post, hopefully they will update the forum post, but worst case the actual files are on my server. If anyone wants something removed they can simply contact me

The easiest method is to just type in the url for a Beat Pack server and connect directly from the beatmaker application on the iphone.

awesome. i should have some more kits on the way soon. anyone interested in a "justice" sample pack? and i think i'm going to chop up the radiohead "nude" stems and turn them into a kit.

I think this is a good idea, but you should've given credit to the people who made these kits. Show some respect man. Don't front like you're the one sharing the kits when you're just reposting other peoples' contributions. Do it the right way and it's all good. It's not cool to see individual links to all your custom kits without any credit. Most of these links came right of my shared kits page... which is fine, but as I said, you might want to show some respect for the people generating this free content.

You practically ripped off the entire page, when you could've said "hey, this page also has a lot of custom kits: http://countsierackulasbeatshop.com/beatmaker-kits.html " and saved yourself a lot of copying and pasting.

nuff said.

Until a more official place is provided to share BeatPacks, PatchArena has created a download section for BeatMaker related files for users who want to share their files but don't have an easy webspace to host.

Downloads

I'm working on the finishing touches of a few of my packs, that I'll probably upload later this week.

Cheers,
Chad

<edit>

Forgot to mention that you need to create an account (free) to upload files, this is to prevent spam.

Can you add all those kits that that first poster put up. The only way I have figured out how to add kits is through your directory site. I'm loving it. Ive got beatpack but cant figure out how to save it correctly so I can upload.

Thanks,

I've done a kit based on yamaha DX200, check it out

http://www.mediafire.com/?rkhutvunjgr

Pretty basic drum kit with some effects but i think it's a valid one.
Tell me what you think about it

EDIT: Added a Bongo Pack

Could everyone start posting the remote server links for the kits.

The only one I have currently is:

theblackpacket.no-ip.biz:3131/bp

If we keep a running list of these URL's, it makes it easy to add the server on beatmaker, it automatically saves it there, then occasionally check to see if new kits are up.

Thanks.

right on man... glad those are coming in useful.

I'm currently working on another bunch of kits and should be able to offer them up to the community pretty soon. it'll be an eclectic mix including some pretty dusty instrumental chops I've recently discovered while digging through an 8-track collection I was given... as well as some more drum kits to add to the lofi collection.

any feedback on what people are finding useful would be great, so feel free to PM me. not sure I'll be able to handle individual requests, but if enough people ask for the same thing, I'll get it out there for ya. peace.

I think there are some vocal loops....like chior and doowop backings. I'm not too sure though. I've never used ableton. I came free with something I bought a while back.

I have a Roland TR-808 kit made from high quality samples if someone wants it

http://www.box.net/shared/z6ydzs0d1e

The samples were taken from http://machines.hyperreal.org/manufactu ... nd/TR-808/
THey have tons of samples with different settings I just picked a good matched range so you had all the instruments at your disposal, only thing missing is the maracas I believe.

I'm going to try for tb-303 and tr-909 samples next

hope you enjoy them
