Funky Nassau man, still one of my favourite breaks of all time, DJ Mink destroys that bad boy !!!!!!!

Hi, i'm glad you can relate! Think i've got the 12"somewhere...

    You #%£#%&£# &££%£
I only have a poor quality 7, which is a strange one, because it extends on to the B so you get the full 12 in two parts.

Man yougotta pull me a wav of that 12 to compare to the 7 at somr point, whats on the B ?

Oh wait, no i was on about the original funk track, sorry lol

Break at about 1.02 (and its a sick £&#& on the level of Amen Brother)

  • Whole tune is class

  • So would this be worth throwing money at then?
    https://thebeginningoftheend.bandcamp.com/album/funky-nassau

Seems to be the legit thing, with high quality downloads. I know it's not the vinyl, but might this be the best alternative?

  • I would look for a CD

@mefisme, is the rebuild you’re talking about , based on the ACP 40?

  • I'm just getting hip to BM2, and just dropped a sizable wad of cash on an ipad pro 10.5 (so Im trying not to get up with BM3 until Im sure this is the one) but I DO have an old APC40 mk1 that I want to bring out of retirement. Will this work with BM2? Also, how do you get ios and APC40 to work to well together. I have been in audio for years - but I dont have the mind for coding. Im looking for an idiot proof way to make my APC my all around ipad controller - is there an easy/idiot proof way. I'll sit down and learn this stuff if I have too... but my ADHD only gives me hyperfocus when shit is interesting to me - I guess I could double up on my adderall for a day and learn it....lol... but Id rather not.

  • @mefisme
I have something up my sleeve for users I think they will truly appreciate. It's a very special performance/practice bank and educative bank that also teaches core music theory. More details soon!

I'm an autodidact so teaching others what I know intrinsically is sometimes
difficult, with this at hand though it will make teaching much easier.

Looking forward to the dedicated website and resources that you're pulling together.

Thank you for making this available.

  • Hey @Gravitas - really looking forward to learning more about your education practice bank. That sounds cool.

Unfortunately @mefisme is on a break from these forums for family reasons, so I suspect he has had to put his project on ice for a while. We all hope he’s doing well and look forward to seeing him back here soon.

  • @tk32
The education/practice bank is mefisme's, the first part of the text is a direct quote.

I didn't know that, I hope all is well with him and his family also.

The educational aspect is something that I want to integrate into some of
the talks that I'm going to be doing in the future, regarding music, education
    and various other things.
This is off topic though so forgive me for not going into it on this thread.
    Let's just say it's a London thing.

  • Hey @Gravitas sounds cool, is this anything to do with point blank

  • @groovey

Nothing to do with Point Blank.
    Totally independent.
I used to be a tutor that got called into trouble spots for youths etc, etc.
Some of them had a lot of potential, some went on to do good things.
That was over a decade ago now.
I still am in touch with some of the teachers I met during that time
so I pass on information for enabling music education at all levels,
considering music is now on the decline in schools nationwide.
These days I generally like to have tools to hand that I can recommend to others.
BM3 is such a tool and with the APC configuration and access to templates
for other controllers then it can be a very useful tool for young, up and coming
    beatmakers/samplists/composers.

  • @Gravitas FYI Audulus work with schools and higher ed as well.

  • Yeah, we miss @mephisme. Lovely guy and super talented. Hope you’re well, fella!

  • @GusGranite

    I didn't know that.
    Thanks.

Sounds like you’re doing some worthwhile real world work. Kudos.

  • Has anybody got a link to the template?

This is the link, the template attached to a post on page 6. Hope this quoted link works

  • Wow thanks Ronji!

  • Cool beans!

    This is exciting stuff @mefisme

Ahhhhhh shiiiiiiiiidddddd!!! Mpk mini mk2. Yes!

  • Cool! Looking forward to mpk mini and the fractal bits. And the “pending” update of course:)

Here is an 8x8 layout for finger drumming on the launchpad x. Should be useful in BM3 as well!

  • @bleep excellent find on video for launchpad x. May be worth looking into to create some templates for this.
